Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 90
Bursting with notes of peonies, berry fruit, orange rind and spices, the 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is medium to full-bodied, lively and elegantly structured, with a deep core of fruit, ripe tannins and a lively, seamless profile.

Particularly old vines. Some stems layered between the destemmed grapes in the fermentation vat. Cask sample. Annoying thick red wax foils. Bright garnet – not as purple as, say, the Geantet-Pansiot Gevreys. Seductive purple-fruit notes on the nose. Sweet palate entry but real energy on the palate. Quite a charge of fine tannins on the end. This is noticeably superior to many village Gevreys. Jean-Marie Fourrier has the pleasure recipe. Really vibrant finish.
