Tasting Notes
Vinous 91-94
(20 hectoliters per hectare produced): Pale, bright yellow. Pure aromas of yellow peach and flowers display the typical early reserve of this cuvée. Silky, seamless, broad and round, showing a lemony edge. Plenty of volume here but a bit less filled in than the Folatières. This classically dry, airy wine is still a bit tight on the back end, but is also a bit less minerally than the Folatières.
Robert Parker 91-93
“The 2016 Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Pucelles offers similar richness to the Folatières but with a hints of Meursault-like nuttiness developing in the glass, plus hazelnut and lychee. The palate is very well balanced with a harmonious texture, a fine bead of acidity, a little spicier than the Folatières though quintessentially Puligny-like on the strict, linear and quite saline finish. Very fine-there is plenty of personality here.”

Rich with a hint of creaminess on the nose. So much there even though masses of acidity on the palate. Very youthful indeed. Still almost raw but one can so easily see that all building blocks are there. Wonderful peacock’s tail on the end.
