Tasting Notes
Vinous 90
The 2012 Chablis Vieilles Vignes is gorgeous. Rich and impeccably layered in the glass, but not at all heavy, the Vieilles Vignes shows plenty of intensity and class. Lemon oil, crushed rocks, wild flowers, almonds and sage are knit together on the fine, nuanced finish. In my opinion, the Vieilles Vignes is one of the most expressive wines in the cellar.
Anticipated maturity: 2014-2014
Robert Parker 90
The 2012 Chablis Vieilles Vignes, which comes from vines aged between 60 and 72 years, has a composed, crisp, fresh apple-y nose with touches of undergrowth coming through. The palate is precise, with a fine thread of acidity, a little closed toward the finish perhaps, but showing good length. Another couple of years in bottle with allow it to express itself. Drink 2016-2026.
