Tasting Notes
JancisRobinson.com 17.5
Great tension on top of briary fruit. Very intense. Firm and fine and set for the long term. Not a foot wrong! Quite a bit of tannin. Dry finish.
Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030
Vinous 90+
(vinified with 60% whole clusters): Good deep red. Complex aromas of brambly raspberry, dark cherry, menthol, licorice, leather and brown spices, plus an element of chocolatey torrefaction. Juicy and tightly wound, with a tight core of spice and good rocky tension. Saline and savory in a positive way. Nicely balanced and not at all hard, but the wine’s rocky minerality gives it a serious mien today.
