Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 91
Tasted at the Domaine. Denis Bachelet’s Village Cru would outshine many a Premier Cru from another grower and his 2007 does not disappoint. It has quite a deep ruby hue, very pure on the nose with black cherries, wild hedgerow and iodine, even though there is just a little reduction. The palate has filigree tannin structure, lovely poise, earthy on the entry with a hint of blackcurrant wine gums. A sedate, elegant finish caresses the mouth. Superb! Hints of eucalyptus and spicy oak on the nose; still a bit shocked by the March bottling. Sweeter and deeper on the palate than the CNV, with supple if youthfully medicinal raspberry and mint flavors. Finishes with serious tannins and a note of bitter chocolate.

25% new oak, 75 yr old vines. Very, very bright crimson, lots of character and depth and again lots of juice and purity. Purer than the Dugat-Py but the same intensity. Racy too!
Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018
