Tasting Notes
Vinous 86
The 2002 Vosne-Romanée Aux Brûlées 1er Cru has a little more precision than the ‘02 Clos des Réas with ferrous, red berry fruit tinged with mint. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly dry tannin, a Vosne-Romanée that just seems to sag in the middle and feels a little muddled towards the finish. Tasted at Sarah Marsh MW’s 2002 Red Burgundy tasting.
Anticipated maturity: 2018-2024

Just a little dank on the nose. Aggressively drying and tannic on the finish with the vestiges of ripe fruit in the middle. Not the most charming 2002 by a long chalk.
