Tasting Notes
Vinous 86-89
Good deep, bright red. Somewhat reduced aromas of red fruits and smoked meat. A distinct step up in texture from the rather pale, lean Nuits-Saint-Georges villages, with sappy dark fruit flavors lifted by a floral nuance. Not particularly fleshy but offers good intensity and brightness. This was 11.8% natural alcohol, chaptalized to around 13%. A very good showing today.

Jagged. Chewy. Lots of acidity. Full and rich with a massive impact. Quite tough – masses and masses of tannin in evidence at this raw stage – though no shortage of extract. (cask sample)
