Tasting Notes
Vinous 91
The 2001 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers from Gouges has an intriguing bouquet with undergrowth, autumn leaves and bay leaf scents, nicely defined if erring towards the delicate side. The palate is medium-bodied with quite a stern if not powerful entry, harmonious if missing some depth. It is carried by its balance and freshness that especially comes through on the finish. It is a wine for readers seeking “classic” mature Pinot Noir. Tasted at Sarah Marsh’s 2000 and 2001 horizontal tasting.
Anticipated maturity: 2018-2027
