Tasting Notes
Vinous 93
Deep red. Deeply pitched aromas of cherry, smoky oak, earth and tobacco. Very concentrated and dense; mouthfilling and wonderfully sweet but remarkably fresh and pure for a wine with such creamy texture. Lovely inner-mouth red fruits and florals. Finishes impressively long and sweet, with tannins enrobed by sheer fat. The yield was just 15 hectoliters per hectare in ’98; after the harvest, a chunk of this parcel consisting of degenerating, low-yielding vines was replanted.
