Tasting Notes
Vinous 90
Good red-ruby. Lively, nuanced nose combines black raspberry, black cherry, violet, licorice and herbs. Fat, sweet and pliant; surprisingly easygoing and plump for the cru and the vintage. Finishes with dusty, fine tannins and very good persistence.
Robert Parker 91
Aged in 80% new oak barrels, the 1998 Clos de Vougeot has floral and raspberry/cherry fruit scents. Medium-bodied and satin-textured, it is a well-made, expressive, and concentrated wine. Fresh red fruits vie with oak spices for the taster’s attention. Projected maturity: now-2008.
