Tasting Notes
Vinous 91
Very good deep red. Darker, more floral aromas of currant and violet pastille; slight suggestion of confiture. Dark berry flavors are quite juicy and vibrant for the vintage. Offers mouthfilling volume and considerable early appeal, but has the structure to age. Finishes long and fresh, with substantial but supple tannins.
Robert Parker 92-95
The spectacular 1997 Richebourg offers an enthralling, talcum powder, perfume, and red cherry-scented nose. This bold, expressive, powerful wine possesses the breed and intensity associated with its heralded vineyard. Immensely complex and muscular, this complete offering is masculine, refined, ample, and crammed with super-ripe cherries immersed in spices and black pepper. Drink this beauty over the next dozen years. Importer: Seagram Chateau and Estate Wines Company, New York, NY; tel; (212) 572-7725.
