Tasting Notes
Vinous 86
Healthy dark red. Withdrawn nose hints at plum, strawberry, smoke and game. More texture and fat than the above, but lacks the vibrancy and cut of the better ’96s. Finishes with gentle tannins and decent length.
Robert Parker 88-90
Produced from a premier cru vineyard in the Premeaux sector of Nuits (the southernmost), this bright, medium-to-dark ruby-colored wine displays blackberry, cassis, fresh herb, and mineral-laden aromas. Medium-to-full-bodied, masculine, chewy-textured, and complex, this wine is densely packed with beautifully ripe black fruit. It is refined, expressive, extremely well-balanced, and has the necessary stuffing and structure for cellaring. Projected maturity: 2001-2007.
