Vinous 93
Saturated ruby color, almost like a barrel sample (these colors in the finished ’95s are really extraordinary). Explosive aromas of blackberry, violet, coffee and game. Vibrant on the attack, with an almost roasted ripeness and a creamy, liqueur-like sweetness. Juicy, very intensely flavored and somewhat folded in on itself. Finishes with a peppery impression of extract. Terrific combination of power and finesse. Very impressive wine, from vines in excess of 70 years of age.
