A great loss to the Burgundy lover, Philippe Engel passed away just before the 2005 vintage. Under-appreciated until recently, he produced wines of intensity without extraction, wines of real style and without too much oak. Lovely wines, if you can afford them. The estate was sold, and became Domaine d'Eugenie.
